Partners

HSWRI strives to create strategic partnerships among public and private entities that share our passion for science, conservation and education. We strongly believe that by working together with community leaders and other institutions of excellence, HSWRI can achieve its mission "to return to the sea some measure of the benefits derived from it."

As a result of its long association with SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, HSWRI is afforded a unique opportunity to conduct meaningful scientific research supported by the premier zoological collections maintained at the SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, and Discovery Cove parks and to communicate our discoveries to a wide audience of park visitors and the general public.

Collaborative research between the Institute's scientists and the parks' husbandry, training and veterinary staff expands scientific knowledge and assists in the conservation of animals in the wild. Our research has focused on a wide range of rare, threatened and endangered species such as manatees, sea turtles, and monk seals. Together we are world leaders in marine species rescue, rehabilitation, and release.

HSWRI is proud of our long association with SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. Together, we represent a national model for a corporate and non-profit alliance that promotes scientific discovery as the foundation for effective conservation and natural resources stewardship.
